About
April Morrow
I am currently an animator with Industrial Light and Magic, Sydney. I have previous experience working as a digital artist for rotoscope and paint at Animal Logic, Sydney. I recently completed a Bachelor of Animation with SAE Institute as well as having already completed a Diploma of Design. I have knowledge and experience working with Maya, Toon Boom Harmony, TV Paint, NUKE and the Adobe suite, particularly After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator. With a strong focus on body mechanics and acting, I have animated and contributed to multiple projects and characters, ranging from serious and realistic in style to whimsical and exaggerated. I also have experience working with motion capture technology, creating and exporting animation for use in Unreal Engine, digi-doubles and animating for feature animation, VFX and interactive story telling.
I have am professionally trained in both 2D and 3D animation and have worked on projects including the use of 360 VR technology and in game animations for use in Unreal engine. I have utilised Nuke for work in rotoscoping, prep and match moving. I am also proficient with drawing and typography due to my completion of a Diploma of Design with the University of Technology Sydney.
In my free time, I enjoy life drawing, painting and training in combat sports, including boxing, muay thai and jiujitsu. These hobbies are not only fun and enriching but also provide me with a greater understanding of anatomy, form, silhouette and body mechanics, which I carry into all of my work in animation.
